Image with Text - Nathalie

On image with text photo 2- I like how she changed the color to black and white. By changing it to black and white I think it changes the meaning of the photo. Like it makes a statement. I like how the sign says "No  Haven for Hope pick ups or drop offs", but in the back there is a lady kneeling down. It also shows it was a stop motion because she captured the lady yawning. It seems like her main focus was the sign ,but the photo also focuses on the lady too. The photo balances it by the color and the message in the picture. I think if this photo would of been in color it wouldn't have given the same message or feeling when you see this picture so choosing it in black and white was a good choice.

On image with text photo 3-  The photo is a blur motion.  All the cars driving and lights are blurred out ,but she captures the main buildings and sculptures of the city that tie in with her quote. Her main focus seems to be the center where the cars are blurred out. Her quote or text for this picture does a good job at representing what she captured. Just the main word in the text "city" , is really where she captured her image in the main part of the city. I like how in the image you can see our main sculpture downtown and you can also see the tower, which symbols San Antonio. Also in the text where it says "like cats will reveal themselves at night", the image is taken at night. Also the cars that are blurred sort of look like a moving object that can symbol the cat. This image was very creative.

On image with text photo 5- I like how she captured the image while he is really into the song. Like he has alot of emotion in the photo. This photo is a stop motion photo because everyone must be moving their hand trying to grab him. I like how her text is the lyrics it gives you an idea of what he is singing.  Also the color level of this image is good. The color is just focused on the guy singing and on the hands of the people. It is sort of bold. Overall I think she did a great job with all her photos. All her photos have like a message and all her text ties into what her image is representing. Good job!

Writing Assignment #1

There are many reasons that photography speaks to me. In every image taken I believe there is a message, like they say a picture is worth a thousand words. This photo speaks to me because when I first discovered the image the message it brought to me was “One person can make a difference.” In the image the person is holding in their hand a brand new baby plant, it shows that every person has the power to give back to Earth and make this world a better place. I am a strong believer in giving back and trying to help the Earth even if it might not be much, I still feel as if a little is better than nothing. This image also gave me a message that people have the world in their hands. This photo is also unique because the background and the person’s hands are in black and white and only the plant has color. Which meaning the plant is what should strike your attention. Up until I took this class I didn’t know a photo could have so much detail ,but as we go on with this class I am learning that it does.
